Kazakhstan plans to sign an agreement with China on the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. This issue was considered at the corresponding meeting in the government, according to the website of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.
The term of passage of transit goods through the territory of Kazakhstan compared to last year has been reduced by half: from 12 to 6 days. This term is planned to be brought to 5 days.
The deadline for the delivery of goods from China to ports to the Black Sea within the framework of TCITR has already decreased from 38-53 to 19-23 days, and should reach 14-18 days, according to the results of this year.
The meeting considered the issue of preparing an agreement between Kazakhstan and China on the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, which will simplify customs procedures and approve guaranteed volumes of transportation on the route.
Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov noted the need to speed up the procedure for coordinating the document with responsible state bodies for its further study at the interstate level.
The meeting also discussed measures to further modernize the railway infrastructure of Kazakhstan, update the rolling stock fleet, the expansion of the trading fleet and the capacities of the Aktau and Kuryk ports.
In particular, it is planned to create a container hub in Aktau port, update the fleet of reloading equipment and restore oil berths, and to build a new pier Kuryk port, launch multifunctional and grain terminals.
It is also expected that 10 oil barges, eight ferries, six tankers and containers will begin to function until 2030.
