“We are seriously working on resolution of border issues with Tajikistan. We are making all possible efforts for the prompt resolution of this issue,” President Sadyr Japarov said during people’s kurultay.
He said coronavirus pandemic and political developments affected the global economy, security, led to unexpected changes.
“We have witnessed all that. For almost all countries, including Kyrgyzstan, new threats and new problems have emerged, including security issues. The latest events, which have become a threat to the integrity of our country, worry every citizen of Kyrgyzstan. Due to the fact that border issues were not resolved for many years, there were such losses and clashes. We have delimited borders with 3 countries. We are seriously working on resolution of border issues with Tajikistan. We do our best to resolve the issue as soon as possible,” the President said.
Such conflicts should not repeat in future, he added.
Kyrgyzstan is committed to peaceful resolution of all outstanding issues, he stressed.
